Embracing Self-Love: A Journey After Pregnancy

Becoming a mother is a life-altering journey filled with joy, but it also brings changes to your body and self-esteem. The Journey after pregnancy is all about Loving yourself in order to embrace this new phase of life. Here are some simplified steps to help you on this journey:

  1. Accepting Your Postpartum Body: Your body undergoes significant changes during pregnancy. Rather than focusing on getting back to your pre-pregnancy shape, appreciate your body for what it has achieved. Scars and stretch marks are badges of honor.
  2. Prioritizing Self-Care: Caring for a newborn can be exhausting, but self-care is crucial. Find small moments for relaxation, whether it’s a bath, meditation, or a short walk. Nutrition and gentle exercise will boost your mood and energy.
  3. Building a Support System: The postpartum period can be emotionally tough. Lean on your partner, family, and friends for support. Connecting with other moms in support groups can help you feel less alone.
  4. Setting Realistic Expectations: Understand that your journey is unique, and comparing yourself to unrealistic images in media is unhelpful. Set achievable goals for yourself and be patient as you adapt to your new life.
  5. Seeking Professional Help: If negative feelings persist, don’t hesitate to seek professional assistance. Postpartum depression and anxiety are real, and therapy can provide tools to manage them.

In conclusion, the journey after pregnancy is all about learning to love yourself with patience, self-compassion, and support. Embrace your postpartum body, prioritize self-care, connect with your support system, set realistic expectations, and seek professional help when needed. Loving yourself not only benefits you but also sets a positive example for your child as they grow, learning from your self-love and acceptance. Embrace this beautiful phase of motherhood and discover newfound love and appreciation for yourself.

Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward and growing

Resilience is the capacity to adapt, recover, and thrive in the face of adversity, challenges, or difficult circumstances in order to keep moving forward.

Having Tenacity is at the core of our ability to overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.

The following quote captures this spirit perfectly, driving determination, growth, and eventual success.

“It doesn’t matter how many times we fall, what matters is that we get up and keep trying.”

Life’s journey is rarely a smooth ride. Challenges and setbacks cross our paths, offering vital lessons. Embracing failure as a stepping stone, not a roadblock, fosters a mindset of constant improvement.

Persistently rising after each fall signifies a commitment to our goals, inspiring both ourselves and others. This determination becomes a sign of hope, showing that challenges can be conquered.

The phrase also highlights the importance of perseverance in becoming an expert. Being better in any field demands practice, refinement, and dedication. Each fall contributes to skill development and mastery, setting true experts apart.

Key Areas of Focus

Also, some things we can do in order to stay motivated and keep moving forward with our goals are:

  1. Stay Positive: Keep a hopeful attitude and focus on finding solutions. Listen to music that motivate you, read books and articles that might help as well as listen to podcasts.
  2. Talk to Others: Seek support from friends, family, or groups who understand.
  3. Be Flexible: Adapt to changes and find new ways to overcome challenges.
  4. Solve Problems: Break big problems into smaller steps and work on solutions.
  5. Take Care of Yourself: Exercise, relax, and do things you enjoy to build strength and handle stress.

Ultimately success is about the journey, not just the destination. Embracing challenges not only fuels personal growth and empowers others but also leaves a legacy of resilience and determination in order to keep moving forward.

Personal Growth is a Process

“My Growth is a Continuous Process.”

Personal Growth is considered to be a transformation into a better person, also, it implies a person is progressing or improving. This is an on going process that should never end. We should always strive to keep our growth going. Always strive to become better and better.

Every day we have the ability of choosing to improve ourselves. As we spoke in better not best we should always strive to become a little more than what we where yesterday.

A little more caring, more dependable, more responsible, more educated, more energetic, more generous, more hardworking, etc.

When we work on becoming a little more on positive aspects, like the ones mentioned before, we start becoming a little better overall, creating personal growth.

There are different activities we can do to look for our personal growth. Some easy options are:

  1. Reading
  2. Writing
  3. Meditating
  4. Exercising
  5. Listening to Podcasts
  6. Going to School/ Taking Courses.

Another key point is that in order to learn and improve we have to try. A lot of times we are gonna fail on those moments that we try. Keep trying after failing is what is going to make ourselves grow.

We are capable of doing difficult things, but just as babies try a lot of times before learning how to walk, we have to try a lot before we get it right.

Personal growth is a process that we have to keep trying to build every day. This process has no finish line, therefore we have to strive every day to become a little better than what we were yesterday.

Personal growth is a process that is gonna help us accomplish the life that we desire and deserve. Because the constant improvement of one self and becoming someone better is gonna help us attract better.

This doesn’t mean there is not gonna be some days were we feel like we failed. What’s important is that after these days happen, the next day we get back on track on our growth process.

Going back on track right away is gonna get us to grow and improve our lives, and as a result get everything that we deserve.

Better not Best

“Don’t give up because you had a bad day, forgive yourself and do better tomorrow.”

We usually strive to become the Best version of ourselves, often we forget that the best way to achieve this is to become better everyday. Thinking just to be the best might be a little overwhelming. Most things take time to build, but just because we don’t see the finished product right away, it does not mean that we are not getting closer to it.

Some days we feel like we didn’t accomplish anything, but sometimes this feeling comes due to us looking to see the final product, instead of focusing on the milestones that will get us there.  Instead of becoming the best that we can ever be, we should look to become better than what we were yesterday.

Looking to be better than we were yesterday, sometimes helps us not get unmotivated and be able to keep going until we reach our final destination. This happens because it is easier to achieve multiple smaller goals than just one real big one.

Also, it is important to get in our heads that winners don’t get there in their first attempt, they fail many times before they can accomplish the goal. It takes time and practice.

It is the same when we are aiming to be the best version of ourselves. Sometimes we are going to fail, but as long as we keep trying to be better every time, we will be getting closer to our final goal.

Every day, we should strive to become better than we where yesterday, not the best. In the end, the goal is to add up every single aspect in which we did improve to in fact get to become the best we have ever been.

This doesn’t mean we can’t keep getting better and better every single day.

Aim to be better not best to achieve your final goal with the following steps:

  1. Divide the main goal into smaller milestones.
  2. Check on your goals daily. See what you can do to accomplish a little extra evrytime.
  3. Know it’s ok to fail somedays, as long as you keep trying.
  4. Be patient with yourself.
  5. Take it one day at a time.

Change your mindset through Exercising

¨Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood. It makes a twist in your mindset.¨

change your mindset through a workout

Usually we see how exercising is good for our body. It help you become healthier, stronger and with more energy. However, we rarely think that by exercising we are able to change our mindset.

You might be asking yourself, how does exercising helps change my mental state?

Here are some things that help change our mindset while we exercise:

  1. Think better: endorphins help our brains concentrate and have our mind on a better focus mode.
  2. Engage Memory: exercising stimulates new cell brain growth, prolonging age related decline.
  3. Higher Self- Esteem: meeting little goals every day will help promote your sense of achievement. This will boost your self respect and help you feel more powerful.
  4. Improve your mood: when we exercise our body releases endorphins, the hormones that create an overall sense of well being.
  5. Help with stress: when we get stressed, our muscles get tense. Physical activity help us relax the muscles.
  6. Anxiety: by really focusing on the things your body is accomplishing when you workout, focusing on your breathing, your heart rate, you might be able to interrupt the flow of thoughts giving you anxiety.

Here is a list of things you can do to accomplish exercising regularly in order to change your mindset one workout at a time:

  1. Start with baby steps: Accomplishing baby goals will motivate you more to keep going than if you set up super big goals and you don’t accomplish them.
  2. Have a habit tracker: Filling out everyday that you achieved what you intended to do, is a great way of motivating you to keep going.
  3. Schedule an activity you enjoy: If you tell yourself you are going to go running, but you absolutely hate running, most likely you won’t be looking forward to it. In the other hand, if you schedule something you enjoy, you are gonna be happy while doing it.
  4. Get an accountability partner: Having someone to workout with is going to help you keep going because you don’t want to let that person down.

Is there anything that helps you with developing a working out habit? would love to hear in the comments!

Love yourself FIRST

“Fall in love with yourself, fall in love with life and THEN fall in love with someone else.”

Multiple times we hear the phrase “Love yourself first.” But, why is it important to love yourself first?

Love ourself

Self-esteem is defined as the confidence in our worth and respect we have for ourselves. When you don’t have a high level of self-esteem you have an inner critic voice telling you  how you don’t deserve good things because you are not enough.

You need to identify this inner voice and challenge it. Talk back to it with what you want to believe about yourself instead of just accepting what is telling you.

Its so important that your self-esteem is high, because we usually accept the kind of love that we think we deserve. If you don’t think you deserve the best kind of love, you will settle for less. Settling for less is just gonna take you on a journey to loving yourself even less. Accepting and remaining in situations that you shouldn’t be having to deal with in the first place.

It is also important to identify the difference between self-acceptance and self-improvement. You can identify the things that you want to change about yourself and have goals for achieving it, but it doesn’t mean you don’t accept and love those things you want to change.

Self-esteem means you already recognized the things that you don’t like about yourself, but you have learned to accept them and still respect yourself. If you don’t like them, you will work on changing them.

Having self-compassion is important when identifying the things we want to change about ourselves in order to achieve self-acceptance. As said on FORGIVE YOURSELF learning to accept and forgive the things that got us where we are is the first step to changing them.

The moment we start being happy with what we are and know exactly how much our worth is, is the moment we stop accepting less than what we deserve.

Action Steps

  1. Identify when your inner critic is talking.
  2. Identify Who told you that?
  3. Make a list of this things.
  4. Write down a list of affirmations you want to believe instead.
  5. Look in the mirror, appreciate yourself and Repeat this list out-laud every morning.

Healthy Food Choices

¨Today I choose to make healthy food choices. Nourishing my body is a simple act of self-love that I get to choose multiple times a day.”

Healthy Food choices are not about how it will make you look, that’s an extra benefit of it, but what really matters is how it is going to make you feel.

Filling yourself with high nutrient foods helps you feel more energized throughout the day. It also keeps your focus on the things that matter. On the contrary, fatty and sugary foods will make you crash. They will drain your energy making you feel sleepy and unfocused throughout the day.

Starting your mornings with healthy food choices like a high protein breakfast will help you with keeping yourself feeling fuller for longer, maintaining a healthy weight, managing sugar levels and boosting your performance throughout the day.  Protein smoothies or omelettes are always a good choice to start your day the right way.

Following with a healthy balanced lunch, is always a good idea. Balancing protein, carbs and fats on a correct way will make you feel like you reenergized yourself. This will help you accomplish everything else on your list.

Healthy Food Choice

Try to get your carbs from complex carbs sources instead of simple carbs. Healthy fats are also the preferred choice over saturated fats. Also, including vegetables in your meals will get you a different variety of nutrients that help you stay healthy.

For dinner it is always a good idea to have some protein like chicken with a lot of vegetables. If you feel like eating dessert, choose a fruit over some unhealthy option that is not gonna have nutrients in it.

Choose to nourish yourself for the quality of life that you deserve.

Better quality foods = more energy and focus throughout your day = improvement on everything else you need to focus your energy on.

Forgive Yourself

Forgive yourself for the bad decisions made in the past.

Take time today to forgive yourself. Forget the things that you made that got you where you are. If you made bad decisions, allowed toxic treatment, hurt someone or hurt yourself, it’s time to let it go.

Not knowing or acting better does not make you a bad person, but that person that didn’t know any better, belongs in your past. Forgive yourself for the things that were and heal your soul to be able to move forward.

You don’t have the ability to change your past, but luckily you have the ability to change your future. It all starts with forgiving yourself for the person you were and the decisions you made.

Feeling compassion for yourself is a great way to start forgiving yourself.

Feeling compassion means you are understanding and kind instead of judging harshly. You are not perfect, you are allowed to make mistakes.

The important thing is to identify them, learn from them and when you do know better, act better.

Action Plan

  1. Grab a Journal and make a list of at least 3 things you want to start forgiving yourself for.
  2. Right down how did acting that way made you feel and why is it unhealthy for you to be stuck with that feeling.
  3. Right next to that write down something that you learned from that experience or action.
  4. Write down, if you where presented with the exact same situation, write down how would you like to act and feel instead.

You might not forgive yourself right away, but starting with identifying the things that you don’t like about your past and the way that you can act differently in the future is definitely the first step to healing and moving on from the person you were in order to get to be the best version that you can become.
